Latest CGHS pharmacist recruitment rules: Eligibility, qualification and pay scale
In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution and in supersession of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Central Government Health Scheme Organization, Pharmacist (Allopathic) Recruitment Rules, 2015, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the President hereby makes the following rules regulating the method of recruitment to the post of Pharmacist (Allopathic), in the Central Government Health Scheme Organization, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Short title and commencement
- These rules may be called the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Central Government Health Scheme Organization, Pharmacist (Allopathic), Group ‘C’ Post, Recruitment Rules, 2024.
- They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
Educational and other qualifications required for direct recruits
- Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy (Allopathic) from a Central Governments or State Governments recognised University or institute; and
- Registered as Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948; or
- Doctor of Pharmacy from a Central Government or State Government recognised University or institute; and (iv) Registered as Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948.
Level in pay matrix
Level – 5 in the pay matrix (Rs. 29200- 92300)
Gross salary for X category city as on 31/08/2024 can be calculated as below
Basic pay 29200 + HRA (8760) + DA (14600) + TPTA (5400) + HPCA (5125)
Total salary: 63085* (deductions include NPS contribution, professional tax, etc.)
Age-limit for direct recruits
Between 18 and 27 years of age.
Period of probation
Two years.
Note: There shall be a mandatory induction training of at least two weeks duration for successful completion of probation as prescribed by the Central Government.
Method of recruitment
By direct recruitment.
Note: Vacancies caused by the incumbent being away on deputation or long illness or study leave or under other circumstances for a duration of one year or more may be filled on deputation basis from the officers of the Central Government,- (a) holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; and (b) possessing the educational qualifications and experience for direct recruits.
Disqualification: No person,
- who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living; or
- who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person.
shall be eligible for appointment to the said post:
Provided that the Central Government may, if satisfied that such a marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing, exempt any person from the operation of this rule.
